<div class='inside_text'>Chaos ensues when Ivan arrives on the scene to ask for Natalia’s hand in Anton Chekhov’s The Marriage Proposal, one of two one-act plays presented by the drama department last week at the Lloydminster and Vermilion campuses. In this scene, Ivan is being kicked out of his neighbour’s home after his proposal goes awry. Riley Gilroyed played Ivan, Karlie Christie played Natalia and Jeremy Laurence portrayed the father. The play was directed by Alanna Negri.</div> <div class='inside_text'>Lakeland College’s Lloydminster Campus was the site of Chamber Connect on Feb. 8. During the event, Lakeland’s Deans of Business Case Competition team and sponsors were introduced. About 20 employees at the Vermilion campus participated in Winter Walk Day on Feb. 8. Curtis Gorkoff, Be Fit For Life Coordinator, coordinated the event at the Vermilion campus as well as at Vermilion Elementary School where 380 students took part. Throughout the province, 113,736 Albertans walked a total of 3,146,973 minutes.</div> <div class='inside_text'>Jeremy Rouw, Pete Lowry, Stephanie Lepage, Rebecca Joseph, and Brooke Lowes of the Vermilion Campus Students’ Association served Ukrainian fare to about 70 people at Spurs on Feb. 7.</div> <div class='inside_text'>Alexandra Lawlor, a practical nursing student at the Lloydminster campus, kept cozy warm in her sweater that she wore to recognition of National Sweater Day, February 9. The day promotes actions to help save power and decrease energy use. Students' associations at both the college's Lloydminster and Vermilion campuses took part.</div> <div class='inside_text'>"Soup chemist" Charlene Bonnar prepares a concoction for her entry for the Valentine's Day Soup Cook off at the Lloydminster campus. Eight teams took part. The winner of the coveted Silver Ladle was "Team Canada" from the School of Health & Wellness. Over $180 were raised for activities supported by the Hopelessly Optimistic Staff Enthusiasts (HOSE) social group.</div>
