Key responsibilities:
• Provide assistance to the Fire Service Instructors
• Operation of the fuel, water, and supply systems

Job Requirements:
• Knowledgeable and familiar with pumping apparatus, SCBA refilling, and operation of our fueling systems
• A fire service background would be an asset, however, additional training will be provided to ensure the candidate meets the competency requirements of our Safety Management System

Campus Patrol Officer Competition No: 18-3401-001WB
Key responsibilities:
•  Assisting students on a regular basis by helping with various needs or problems such as: escorting on campus, parking problems, noise complaints, room lock outs, unwanted guests, etc.
•  General protection of campus property through mobile and foot patrols.
•  Monitoring and reporting of criminal activity while checking areas and watching for individuals who are banned from campus.
•  Through regular patrol, monitor for any suspicious activity (e.g. strange vehicle after hours, possible break-ins, vandalism).
•  Supplying 24 hour shift coverage on weekends gives the campus protection and availability of assistance for staff and students.
•  Keeping a liaison between the Resident and College staff and with outside agencies (RCMP, Ambulance, Hospital, City/Town,  and Municipality).
•  Routine checks that all buildings are secure: locked, no doors propped, windows left open, lights on at entrance, all doors  closed properly, changing door batteries etc.
•  Monitoring security camera and alarm monitoring systems on a continuous basis.
•  Provide a professional approach to interactions with staff, students and guests of Lakeland College.

Job Requirements:

•  High school diploma, must be bond-able
•  Preference given to candidates with the Alberta Basic Security Training Certification, but are willing to train

Key responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in service excellence to students and staff
• Function as a key member of the college’s management team
• Provide administrative leadership and direction to professional staff
• Directs support staff responsible for the systems and services to student within the Office of the Registrar and Student Services on the Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses
• Liaison with provincial ministries and other post-secondary institutions in matters related to student policy, enrolment and transfer credit

Key responsibilities:
• Maintenance and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial finishing or coating
• Paint many surfaces using different products in order to protect, preserve, restore, and sanitize
• Identify what paints will perform best in each situation for fire protection/insulation as well as to decorate
• Knowledge of how paint should be applied using brushes, rollers, spray or dipped

Dairy Herdsperson Competition No: 18-2528-002REWB
Key responsibilities:

• Day-to-day operations of the dairy including milking, breeding, calving and calf care, assisting and directing students
• Running the proper startup operations of milking equipment, ensuring that the cows are milked out properly and thoroughly, as well as that all milking equipment is kept clean and up to standards
• Calves must be properly tagged and processed as required, administer medication or treatment when needed
• All breeding dates, pregnancy result, vaccination dates, heat dates, and birth dates are to be maintained on animal records
• When the dairy unit coordinator is unavailable, the herdsperson is responsible for feeding the cows or arranging other reliable farm staff to feed in their absence
• Assist the dairy unit coordinator in the maintenance of waters, manure handling equipment, feed bunks, feeders, shelters, parlors equipment, etc. for all animal welfare
• Assist farm technicians with bedding, treating, moving or any other farm related duties that are required on a daily basis

Job Requirements:

• Post-secondary agriculture related education, preferably Diploma in Animal Science
• Dairy experience and knowledge of farm equipment operation highly desirable
• Manual labour and shift work is required
• Ability to perform artificial insemination would be an asset

Key responsibilities:
• Primary responsibilities are the day to day operations of the College’s crops enterprise including field work such as seeding, swathing, combining and other duties associated with operating a crop  enterprise
• Operate large and modern field equipment and its’ associated technology
• Work with the Student Managed Farm in implementing the cropping plan; mentor and guide the students on making cropping decisions and provide feedback on the crop plan, agronomy and field operations
• Provide general maintenance and basic mechanical maintenance to farm equipment
• Assist with other farm duties as required and assigned; specifically with the beef, sheep and dairy units on occasion

Job requirements:
•Post-secondary agriculture related experience preferred, but not a must

Key responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and coordination of Administrative Support staff for the School of Agricultural Sciences, overseeing work distribution, work accuracy and organization
• Office Management and coordination of activities including the following;
        Assisting with budget preparation and coordination, monitoring as well as variance reporting
        Preparation of letters and other written materials

Livestock Research Scientist Competition No. 18-2538-001WB
Key responsibilities:
•  Working collaboratively under the Director of Applied Research and in liaison with the Dean and Associate Dean of Agriculture to conduct and report on livestock research in the field and laboratory
•  Responsible for managing a range of livestock research and related activities including:
    -implement existing and further develop livestock related applied research
    -identify and develop appropriate research while identifying collaborators and foster engagement
    -work with faculty and others to integrate livestock research into academic programming
    -engage Student Managed Farm teams

Job Requirements:
•  Masters Degree in a related field
•  PhD is preferred
•  Understanding of and ability to carry out appropriate experimental design and statistical analysis to applied research projects
•  Knowledge of livestock research and research equipment

These casual AUPE appointments are to commence as soon as possible and ending June 30, 2016, with the possibility of extended employment past this date. The department operates year round, seven days per week, 24 hours per day, with three different shifts each 24 hour period. The day shift is 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., the evening shift is 4:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. and the night shift is 12:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. The successful candidates will be required to work up to a maximum of 32 hours per week (4 shifts) during the period of Monday to Sunday.















































The successful candidates will have a high school diploma and must be bondable. Security experience would an asset, but we are willing to train. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with the Alberta Basic Security Training Certificate. If you do not have this certificate we are willing to provide on the job training, which must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
