Special Needs Facilitator Competition No: 12-2704-002WB
The School of Academic Services & Community Relations requires a Special Needs Facilitator. You will be responsible for coordinating all services for students with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, as well as three years of experience in teaching and tutoring. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills and computer skills including knowledge of assistive Technology are required.

This is a Full-time temporary AUPE position at the Lloydminster Campus commencing August 20, 2012 and ending June 30, 2013.

Coordinator, Biochar Program Competition No: 12-2538-004WB
Reporting to the Manager, Applied Research and Innovation, the Coordinator, Biochar Program will be responsible for facilitating bioenergy applied research projects at the College. The Biochar Coordinator will work with the Biochar Program Management Committee and the multi-stakeholder Biochar Program Advisory Committee to ensure all funding requirements and program targets are met. The Biochar Coordinator will undertake marketing and networking activities, and coordinate the use of the mobile biochar units, including knowledge transfer, business development, grant writing and liaison activities with academic, government and industry partners.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, as well as five years’ of experience in handling multi-stakeholder projects, a general understanding of the reporting protocols of funding agencies, government, and educational institutions. The incumbent should also have experience in leading a diverse group and working independently to meet and define objectives. Proficiency with computer office programs, oral and written communications, and strong organizational and leadership skills would be a definite asset.

This is a Full-time Temporary AUPE position at the Vermilion Campus commencing July 3, 2012 and ending June 30, 2015. Salary Range: $52,302-$65,910 per annum.

Agricultural Technician (Beef & Crops) Competition No: 12-2521-001WB
Lakeland College requires an Agricultural Technician for the college farm. The college farm maintains several livestock units in support of the Agricultural Sciences academic programs. The responsibilities of this position are primarily the day-to-day operation of the beef and crop units including seeding, harvest, feeding, calving, fencing, assisting and directing students in the Beef & Crops Units as well as assisting in the College riding arena. The ability to perform manual labour is required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a diploma in related studies, combined with two years of experience and knowledge. Crop knowledge of various grains fertilizers sprays and the ability to operate farm equipment is an asset.

This is a Full-Time Temporary AUPE appointment at the Vermilion Campus commencing as soon as possible and ending June 1, 2013.

Agricultural Technician (Dairy) Competition No: 12-2521-002WB
Lakeland College requires an Agricultural Technician for the college farm. The college farm maintains several livestock units in support of the Agricultural Sciences academic programs. The responsibilities of this position are primarily the day-to-day operation of the dairy including milking, breeding, calf care, assisting and directing students in the dairy barn and helping with a variety of other farm duties on a daily basis. The ability to perform manual labour is required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a diploma in Animal Science related studies, combined with two years of experience and knowledge in dairy operations. Knowledge of farm equipment operation would be an asset.

This is a Full-Time Temporary AUPE appointment at the Vermilion Campus commencing as soon as possible and ending July 15, 2013.

Electrician Competition No: 12-3302-003RE
College Facilities and Services have an immediate opening for an Electrician. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical systems are maintained and in good working order. Responsibilities include maintenance of electrical, fire alarms and air conditioning systems. The incumbent will carry-out electrical projects, respond to trouble calls, and ensure proper material is on hand.

The successful candidate will be a journeyman electrician with three years of related experience. An understanding of HVAC and refrigerator controls would be an asset.

This is a full-time permanent AUPE appointment commencing as soon as possible on the Vermilion Campus. The maximum salary for this position is $64,729 per annum and includes a generous benefit package and pension plan.
