Student Job Opportunities

Student job opportunities vary throughout the year. For example, during the school year computer lab monitor and recreation positions are available on campus. Lifeguard positions are available at the pool year-round. Summer sees a variety of jobs available in residence, on the farm and in many of the business units such as finance and information technology.

Lakeland College has the following Student appointments available (12-STU-007 - 12-STU-031). Dates of employment will be during the period April 30, 2012, to September 7, 2012, and hours of work will be 36.25 per week, unless otherwise indicated. The salary range is $12.00 per hour plus 11.2% holiday and vacation pay.

Vermilion Campus Competition No 12-STU-019 - 12-STU-023
Student Bookstore Clerk Competition No. 12-STU-019

Duties include helping with year-end inventory, customer service, operating cash register, pricing and displaying of books, clothing and supplies, and shipping items to other locations. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service. Retail and computer experience would be an asset. This appointment commences June 25, 2012, and ends August 17, 2012.


Student Painter (4 appointments) Competition No. 12-STU-021

Duties include assisting painter with repairing walls, exterior and interior painting, staining decks, moving furniture, and general maintenance assistance. The successful candidates should have some painting experience and be able to do heavy lifting.
Hours: 40 hours per week


Student Grounds Helper (5 appointments) Competition No. 12-STU-022

Duties include upkeep and maintenance of College grounds including mowing of lawns, thatching, fertilizing, weeding, care of flowerbeds, and watering of trees, shrubs, and lawns. The successful candidates should be dependable and physically capable of manual labour.
Hours: 40 hours per week


Residence Caretaker (10 appointments) Competition No. 12-STU-023

Duties include washing walls, steam cleaning carpets, waxing floors, cleaning appliances, washing windows and making beds. The successful candidates should have some caretaking experience and be able to do heavy lifting.










Lloydminster Campus Competition No: 12-STU-024 - 12-STU-030
Centennial Events Summer Assistant Competition No. 12-STU-024

Duties include planning for the Centennial Events, scheduling meetings and communicating between committees.


Conference Services Summer Assistant Competition No. 12-STU-025

Duties include office duties, various aspects of event planning, event setup, and possible event supervision. 



Grounds Helper (3 appointments) Competition No. 12-STU-030

Duties include upkeep and maintenance of College grounds including mowing of lawns, care of flowerbeds, and watering of trees, shrubs, and lawns. The successful candidates should be dependable and physically capable of manual labour.
