Basic Hoof Care for Horses and Introductory Farrier are for the horseman who wants to learn the proper techniques of hoof management.

Basic Hoof Care for Horses QAGR 131

This weekend course covers anatomy, physiology, diseases and deformities of the hoof and leg. Learn how to trim and balance a hoof, first on specimen hooves and by the end of the course on your own horse. Limited enrolment.

Introductory Farrier QAGR 130

This course introduces students to the art and science of hoof trimming and horse shoeing. Learn about the conformation of the hoof, physiological movements of the hoof, shaping a shoe, and more. Prerequisite: Basic Hoof Care for Horses Limited enrolment.
