Artificial Insemination (AI) for Cattle

Learn artificial insemination (AI) skills to use on your own beef or dairy herd. Using AI can maximize the genetic potential of the herd, making the most of every dollar spent.  

With a new format for this year, this intensive four day workshop will be held over 2 weekends and combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on practice. Topics include:

  • insemination procedures
  • semen handling
  • reproduction
  • anatomy
  • physiology

 

Classes are held in a modern heated facility on the Vermilion Campus in the AI Barn located south of Harcus Road.

Students will need coveralls and rubber boots and notetaking supplies.
