Work-force Ready Pre-hospital Care

Pre-hospital care is an exciting career with growing job possibilities. In less than a year you’ll get a well-rounded education from Lakeland’s emergency medical technician program that prepares you to join the workforce and start making a difference!

Learning is through a combination of online and face-to-face instruction. Most theory is online. However, during the six month program, about 22 days will be spent in class learning technical skills with fellow students from instructors who still work in the field.

Plus, there are live-the-learning opportunities with both ambulance and hospital practicums.

What You’ll Learn:
  • How to assess patients to provide appropriate care.
  • Develop specific skills for providing basic life support pre-hospital care to the sick and injured
As a graduate you’ll qualify to write the Alberta College of Paramedics EMT exam.
