Firefighter (NFPA 1001) – Vermilion ETC Campus

12 Weeks to Great Credentials

If you're looking for a hot job in municipal or industrial firefighting, this is the place to start. This unique and comprehensive program prepares you for entry-level positions in the fire service.

Our program curriculum exceeds National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements including more practice runs and hands-on activities. Program graduates are eligible to write provincial International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and ProBoard certfication exams.

Time in the classroom is supplemented with live field training plus Lakeland College's Emergency Training Centre labs. You’ll learn skills beyond fighting structure fires including dangerous goods response and wild land fires.

Currently Lakeland offers several intakes every year, including a new blended learning option. You start online, and then come to ETC for the hands-on.

See our platoon schedule for more details.
