Students were asked: What is/are the most important concept(s) you learned from this program?
  • Business Management skills, which are needed in order to work with larger numbers of staff.
  • Practical application of the theories presented in a real-life environment.
  • Importance of how communication and leadership qualities/traits affect organizational outcome.
  • Leadership values, and how to empower staff the peers by sharing leadership information.
  • The value of different insights on issues and topics form ES workers in all fields of ES across the country.
  • This program reinforced and confirmed work related practices that I have applied over 20 years in EMS Management. I was happy to interact with up-and-coming managers in the field of emergency services across Canada.
  • This program had some very practical components that have prepared me for my new position as Deputy Chief. The courses on leadership, union and media relations were all very helpful.
Other Comments:
  • I really appreciated the outline and intent of the program, having background in policing, fire, and EMS I found it very engaging.
  • This has been an incredible program which pinpoints the different aspects of business administration.

  • Team work, safety, having a positive attitude.
  • What to expect if/when I get on at a station.
  • I learned that I am capable of a lot more in this industry than I thought I was. All that I need is good teachers and lots of hands on. I loved my teachers.
  • I learned a lot about teamwork and that no matter how hard something is, if you want it bad enough you can do it.
  • Too many to choose from!
  • Understanding of situations and good teamwork will lead to success in this career.
