Provide care where it's needed
As our society ages, there is more need for health care providers. Be part of the solution by becoming a certified health care aide. Lakeland College gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn with our full time study offered through weekend delivery. You'll attend classes on 8 weekends (see health care aides important dates for the exact dates) running on Friday evenings 7-9 pm, Saturdays 9 am-4 pm, and Sundays 9 am-4 pm. That leaves the rest of the week free for your current job.
You'll learn in the classroom as well as through hands-on experience during the clinical practicum at the end of the program.
Graduates are qualified to work in environments with people who need individual care such as Alberta home care settings, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and centres for persons with developmental disabilities.
