Dual Credit – Online & Blended Learning

dual credit feet graphicLakeland College offers high school students the chance to take post-secondary courses. You'll complete high school credits (in Career & Technology Studies [CTS] and also earn credits from Lakeland.

Courses are offered twice a year in September and February. Interested students are asked to complete an application and submit to their principal as soon as possible.

Dual credit courses are available to any school division. Currently four divisions (see drop down) are involved. Interested school districts should contact Janice Aughey, program facilitator, to discuss dual-credit arrangements.

Currently students have the option to take 5 courses. For more details on each course, choose the "courses" tab on the left menu:
  • ED 120 - Play
  • HS 115 – Exploring Exceptionalities
  • SC 140 – Environmental Sustainability
  • HL 101 – Introduction to Heavy Oil and Gas
  • HS 160 - Introduction to Esthetics

You participate in 1 of 3 ways:
  1. Participate in live online classes
  2. Listen to pre-recorded lectures
  3. A combination of online and pre-recorded lectures.

High school students in grades 10 through 12.

Interested student must complete an application form and write a paragraph or two explaining why they want to enroll in a dual credit course and how it may help their future career decisions.

How will I know I've been accepted? View More ∇
  • Students will be accepted on a first-qualified, first-accepted basis.
  • Lakeland College will notify you when you've been accepted.
  • You may be required to attend an orientation before your class starts
Who grades my work? View More ∇
You will receive your final grade from the dual credit teacher. Marks for your CTS courses will be forwarded to your high school.
