Early Learning and Child Care – Certificate or Diploma – Online

If you need to update your education for your current child care job, or if you want to move into a supervisory role, then work towards an early learning and childcare certificate or diploma online through Lakeland College.

Our certificate qualifies you as a Child Development Worker by the Day Care Staff Qualifications from Alberta or ECE II from Saskatchewan Community Resources and Employment’s Child Care Branch.

Our diploma gives you Child Development Supervisor of the Day Care Staff Qualifications from Alberta or ECE level III from Saskatchewan.

Earn while you learn, or choose face-to-face training with an online component. We're flexible to meet your needs.

  • As program requirements, jobs & careers and further study are the same as the face-to-face program, you'll be redirected to human services website for that information when you click on those items in the left menu.
  • You must first apply to the program using ApplyAlberta. Once you are accepted, you may register for individual courses.
  • If you are studying online outside of Canada: you are responsible for verifying that this credential is recognized within the country/jurisdiction that you plan to work. Students that are interested in residing in Canada must consult www.cic.gc.ca/english/.

Applications received after December 8, 2017 will be deferred to a Spring 2018 start date.
Course registration deadline is January 8, 2018--pending  course availability.
