Veterinary Medical Assistant – Vermilion Campus

Choose Alberta's only veterinary medical assistant program ...

and in one academic year you'll have work skills for a veterinary practice or animal shelter.

Those skills include:
  • animal restraint

  • client education
  • office and hospital procedures
  • surgical prep
  • radiology positioning
  • lab equipment maintenance.

Your hands-on training will be at Lakeland College’s small animal clinic, an Alberta Veterinary Medical Association accredited animal hospital.
Part of your course is a 3-week practicum at a veterinary facility where you can put your knowledge and skills to work. The facility can be anywhere in Canada.
