Lloydminster Open House Activities

The Halls Will be Alive

Open House will return to Lakeland's Lloydminster campus hallways on Friday Oct. 27 and Saturday Oct. 28, 2011.

Our hallways, classrooms and labs all always busy. Planned activities usually include classes demonstrations to see and tours to take. You might even catch some Rustlers volleyball and basketball action.

While you're here, why not take in a volleyball or basketball game at the Lloydminster campus gym? Admission is free both days!

    Campus Tours
    Take a guided tour of the campus. See the classrooms, check out the labs, visit the Recreation Centre and more. All campus tour participants are eligible to win a $1,000 tuition credit.

    Living in Residence is a great way to meet new people. Whether you're single or have a family, talk to us about housing - and parking and childcare too!

    Students' Association
    Where's the fun at during the school year?

    It's throughout the campus thanks to the hard work of the Students' Association. Get details about all the activities planned by visiting the booth on the main floor of the Bill Kondro Wing outside the Students' Association office.

    Find out about program advising, financial aid, scholarships and more.

    Apply online in BK215 or ask for an application form because if you apply today, we'll waive the application fee! You could also win an iPad2!

    Student services is located in room 1048 on the main floor.
    Health and Wellness

    Practical Nurse

    From 9 am - 4 pm in BK220 (on the second floor of the Bill Kondro Wing) you can walk through the chambers of the heart, listen to the many sounds of the lungs, and explore the development of a fetus. Test out your hand washing skills using our interactive testing site. Visit our patients and check out the many different skills that practical nurses perform.

    Esthetician

    9 am - 4 pm, Room 201 (Wellness Centre)
    Learn more about the Esthetician program and get a free manicure from our current students. Take a look at our new wellness centre, it's a lab that's a spa.
    HOOT, Power engineering and Transportation
    Note: All of the sessions are located near Room 1031B, down the north wing on the main floor.

    Information Booth

    Get details on the Heavy Oil Operations Technician (HOOT) and continuing education programs. These are all part of Lakeland's new school of Energy, Entrepreneurship & Saskatchewan programming (con. ed. only).

    HOOT has both  of power engineering and heavy oil components. Visit our booth to talk to past students, instructors and staff.

    Learn more about our extension services (continuing education):
    • Fourth Class Power Engineering Course (part-time) - Attend two evenings per week in the fall and winter semester to work towards your 4th Class steam ticket.
    • Third Class Power Engineering Course (part-time) - Work at your pace with assistance from an instructor to complete the first to papers of the 3rd class steam ticket.
    • Gas Process Operator Program (part-time) - Complete 4 courses over two semesters and receive a certificate to become a field operator.
    • Transportation  - Driver Training, Air Brakes, Vacuum Truck Training and Pressure Truck Training
