The 2012 College Student Success course in Vermilion is limited to 60 students.

We recommend registering early, as this course fills up quickly. The application deadline is July 16, 2012 (or until all the spaces are filled). Registrations (online, by fax or phone, or by mail) will be accepted beginning June 1, 2012.

    Your Schedule
  • Check in at the Vermilion Campus Monday, August 27 at 8:30 am (building and room number to be announced after registration is completed)
  • Classes run from 9 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday through Thursday. But, there's some fun too! Evening recreational activities are also planned.
  • Your Cost
  • $390 Registration Fee, which includes tuition and meals (from breakfast Monday to lunch on Thursday)
  • $75 Accommodation fee (optional)

  • For $75, you can stay in the Vermilion Residence Village. (If you will be staying in Vermilion Residence during the school year, we will try to place you in the room that you will have all year.) If you have questions about Residence, please contact the Residence Office directly at 780 853 8543.
  • Or you can arrange your own accommodations off campus.
  • You Should bring...
  • Pens, pencils, paper. We'll supply any textbooks or other supplies.         
  • Earbuds or earphones, the kind you can plug into a computer or mp3/iPod. You will need them for the Learning Technologies Session.
  • If you have one, your laptop/iPad since you will learn how to connect to the College wireless system.
  • Your best smile. Student ID photos will be taken Monday.       
  • Don't forget the fun activities in the evening, so pack running shoes, swim suit (there's a pool on campus), a ball glove, frisbee--whatever you like to do.
  • If you're staying in residence, bring your own bedding, towels, toiletries (including toilet paper), alarm clock, and other personal items.

  • Refund Policy
  • If a student cancels before July 15, 2012, Lakeland College will refund all registration, residence & meal fees.
  • If a student cancels between July 15 - August 22, 2012, only residence and meal fees ($220) will be refunded.
  • Meal Plan
  • Breakfast is from 7:30-8:30 am.
  • There are vegetarian meal options. However, please notify us in advance so that we can properly accommodate you.
  • Do you have food allergies? If so please notify us prior to your attendance so that we can can collaborate with you to meet your needs. If our cafeteria is unable to meet your dietary requirements, the cost of meals will be deducted from your registration fees. Note: This must be arranged before you attend the program.
  • FAQs
  • Can I bring my horse with me?
    Yes, some students do bring their horses to college. However, stalls are limited and arrangements must me made prior to arrival. Please contact Lee MacMillan at 780 581 5421 to secure a stall and arrange your horse's arrival on campus.

  • Can I bring my dog with me?
    No, if you are living on campus, dogs are not permitted. If you are a member of the stock dog club and have already made arrangements with Deanna Krys, you may bring your stock dog. Please contact Deanna at 780 853 8613 to arrange your dog's arrival on campus.

  • Is Daycare available at the college?
    Yes there is a Daycare service. However, the program does not start until September 4, 2012. Spots are limited, so make sure you contact Alma Noel at 780 853 8801 prior to commencing your program.

  • Where can I park?
    For the week of the College Student Success Course, students may use Parking lots K, N, and Q.
    Students requiring energized spots for the year should contact the Residence office.
    Note: Payment will be required upon arrival for energized spots.

  • Will I have access to the internet when I arrive?
    No, not immediately. You will receive your username and password for your college computer account on Monday. You can then access the college wireless network if you have your own laptop from anywhere on campus (including dorms). You are responsible for making arrangements with other internet service providers (Telus, Shaw, etc.)

  • Where do I find my Lakeland College ID number?
    Your Lakeland College student ID number can be found on your acceptance letter. If you cannot find your letter, please call 1 800 661 6490 and request the Admissions office.
