Town of Vermilion comes aboard as a major sponsor for Lakeland College's centennial celebrations
The Town of Vermilion will contribute $25,000, provide the Vermilion Regional Centre for the centennial finale in November 2013, and display college centennial banners on numerous street light poles near Highway 41in Vermilion for two years. In recognition of its support, the Town of Vermilion has been named a President Sponsor.
“We’re very happy to contribute to this celebration. This is an important milestone for Lakeland College and for Vermilion. Lakeland is an anchor of our community and we’re proud of how it has grown and evolved and now attracts students from all over the world,” says Mayor Bruce Marriott.
Glenn Charlesworth, president of Lakeland College, thanked the Town of Vermilion for its support.
“Our college has benefited from the support of the Town and its residents for years and that community-wide support continues today. We’re delighted that the Town will be very involved in our centennial celebrations. We look forward to involving community members, alumni, students, businesses and donors in our events,” says Charlesworth.
As a President Sponsor, the Town will receive recognition through Lakeland College’s website and social media channels, in promotional material, at events, on signage and in media kits.
Lakeland College has planned 15 signature events for its 100th anniversary. Events kick-off this November and culminate in November 2013 with a four-day finale in Vermilion. Galas, guest speakers, mattress dominoes, The Great Toboggan Ride, homecoming events and golf tournaments are among the scheduled activities.
