Establish An Award or Scholarship
Lakeland College welcomes and encourages donations that expand our scholarships, awards and bursaries. This past academic year, Lakeland College proudly awarded 726 financial awards to our current students – with a value of over $653,000.
These valuable gifts play a crucial role in helping students reach their academic and career goals. Check out the types of awards Lakeland offers by searching our database.
Setting up a scholarship—or award or bursary—is a simple 3-step process that takes into account your interests and financial situation.
- Determine the type of award you would like to create. Is an annual scholarship? Is there a piece of equipment that would benefit a student that makes sense as an award.
- Decide how you would like to fund your award. Is it a memorial award? Is it from your business? Will it be based on some sort of planned giving from your estate, life insurance or other gift?
- Set the criteria for your award Are you interested in a particular program? Do you want to recognize citizenship and or academic achievement? Do you feel strongly about helping those in the most financial need? Do you want to set a geographic criteria?
Once you’ve set up the award, you’ll be invited to one of our award celebration evenings. There you’ll meet your award recipient(s), have dinner with them and learn how your gift makes a difference in their lives.
