Lakeland College’s Centre for Sustainable Innovation encompasses research in three of the College’s four areas of strategic priority and academic excellence: Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, and Energy. These areas are supported by significant strengths in construction, manufacturing, and business and are approached with an interdisciplinary mindset. The College’s fourth priority area is Fire and Emergency Medicine.
The Centre for Sustainable Innovation (CSI) provides learning opportunities for students and the community. Interested community members may contact the College and schedule a visit to the CSI, to discuss their particular interests.
Students enrolled in Lakeland College's Renewable Energy and Conservation (REC) Program
are able to further their hands-on knowledge at the Centre. Students use data and information found on this site to further enhance their understanding of the topics of renewable energy. The Centre is the place to see all kinds of renewable technology, from solar photovoltaics (PV) and thermal concentrators to waste to energy gasification for co-generation of electricity and heat.
