Windows XP

If you're having problems accessing the wireless network using Windows XP, we can help. Just follow the steps listed below. You can also print Windows XP Wireless Instructions as a pdf.


To find your Media Access Control (MAC) address, first make sure that your wireless adapter is turned on
  1. then click on the start menu, then click run



  2. Type cmd into the "Open..." text box and click OK    



  3. In the new window, type in ipconfig /all and press enter (Note: There is a space after ipconfig)    



  4. Maximize the window and find Wireless LAN adapter: Wireless Network Connection: The number code beside Physical Address is the MAC address of your computer.



  5. Use your Physical Address code to fill out the wireless sign up sheet and return it to Information Technology in BB208 in Vermilion or 2062 in Lloydminster. Please allow IT up to 24 hours to process your wireless access request before continuing with the rest of the steps. 



  6. Join the wireless network by left clicking on the wireless icon at the bottom right hand side of your screen  



  7. Click on View Wireless Networks



  8. Click on LLCWireless and click connect



  9. When prompted, type in the password lakeland and click OK



  10. Once your wireless icon turns green you are connected to the internet
