2013 Convocation dates are May 31 for Vermilion and June 7 for Lloydminster.

Like most graduates (or most parents of graduates) you may be anxious to know where you need to go and when you have to be there. The drop downs below give you those details.

A family member or friend can't make it to the ceremony? Don't worry, the ceremonies will be posted online as a webcast. Watch for the link on the front page of the website on convocation day.

2013 Convocation Dates & Times

Lloydminster Convocation is Friday June 7. Ceremonies will begin at 1:30 pm at the Lakeland College Gymnasium. A tea follows in the campus cafeteria. Students will be required to pick up gowns and assemble before the ceremonies. Watch for more details.

What You Should Know About Convocation

For the Vermilion ceremony, you will be limited to 3 tickets for your guests. Our ceremonies have outgrown our facilities. Your tickets will be mailed out with your Convocation letter in early May. There is no limit to the number of people who can attend the Lloydminster ceremony.

Both ceremonies will commence at 1:30 pm.
Vermilion's ceremony will be held at the Regional Centre
Lloydminster's ceremony will be held in the Lakeland College Gymnasium.
Family and friends are welcome to take pictures before, during and after the exercises.
This is a formal event. Out of respect for the event and for your fellow classmates, we ask that you wear dark colored trousers (no blue jeans) or dresses.
Both ceremonies will be followed by a Convocation Tea co-sponsored by the Students’ Association.
The ceremony will run just under 2 1/2 hours.
Souvenirs will be offered for sale during the day.

Vermilion Convocation--Where to Be and When!

pick up your gown, cap and stole between 11:30 and 1:00 pm in BB 103.
proceed to the room assigned for assembly. This information will be posted in BB103.
you must be gowned and waiting in your assigned room by 1 pm sharp.
at 1:10 sharp you will be assembled for the march from the college to the Regional Centre.
ceremony starts at 1:30 pm.
the convocation tea will be served at the college cafeteria immediately after the ceremony.
gowns and stoles need to be returned to BB 103 by 5:30 pm. The caps and tassels are yours to keep, compliments of the Student's Association.
An after party will be held at Spurs. Doors open at 8pm.

It's free, but please apply to graduate.

Even before you write your last exam, you need to apply to graduate. Deadline is April 5, 2013.

Why?

Information from the application for credential form is used for your certificate or diploma.
If you plan to attend convocation, we need to order a gown.
If you are the child or grandchild of a Lakeland College alumnus, then you also receive special recognition. Go to the alumni generation form page.

or, visit student services on your campus to complete the form

Apply for Your Credential--Even if you aren't coming to Convocation

Even if you don't plan to attend convocation ceremonies, you still need to apply for your credential--certificate or diploma. Do it online on our apply to graduate page.
