Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Students may also participate in online discussions and surveys, submit their assignments electronically, take quizzes and view their grades in D2L.

Passwords & Logging In

What is my Password?

If your instructor uses Desire2Learn, you can log into D2L with the following username and password:

You can access D2L by going to Lakeland College's website, and selecting the Desire2Learn link on the right side of the page or you can log onto D2L directly by going to https://lc.desire2learn.com.

If your instructor is using D2L and you do not see it in your list of courses, please contact your department’s administrative assistant.

 Why can’t I access D2L?

Some programs will continue to use Blackboard, but not through Lakeland College. The exceptions are noted below. Your instructors will advise you about where you log-in.

  • Practical nursing is brokered through Norquest College. Those students will use MyQuest.
  • Programs delivered through eCampusAlberta will continue to use the eCampusAlberta Blackboard log-in. This includes renewable energy conservation, applied business: emergency services, and sign language and interpretation.

Apprentices and TLM

For the near future, apprenticeship students at Lakeland will continue to use The Learning Manager TLM 4.0

My name has changed since I registered at Lakeland College. Will I be able to log into D2L?

If you already received an email from D2L explaining how to log into the system with your old name, you are going to have to contact the registrar's office and your department's administrative assistant. Both departments will need to make the changes in their systems. Once the change has been made in D2L, you will receive an auto-generated email telling you how to log into D2L once again.

In September 2012, PeopleSoft and D2L will be integrated, and PeopleSoft will communicate this information to D2L.
