The Crown Investments Corporation of Saskatchewan (“CIC”) has made a partnership funding agreement with Lakeland College in support of the CIC Aboriginal Bursary. 

The intent is to provide financial aid to undergraduate Aboriginal students who have demonstrated involvement in leadership, management and community service activities, to assist them to complete selected college programs, and to prepare them for a career in Saskatchewan Crown Corporations.

Selection is based 75% on financial need, and 25% on experience in the areas of leadership, management, and community service, career goals and potential to contribute to the Province of Saskatchewan.

To be eligible for this bursary, applicants must:
  • be an entering or continuing full time student at Lakeland College, with a minimum entrance high school average of  70% or a college Grade Point Average (GPA) of 70% (B-/ 2.7 average).
  • be a Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Métis, or Inuit (self-declared)
  • be a Saskatchewan resident, for a minimum of the past 12 consecutive months
  • Complete and submit a CIC Aboriginal Bursary application by the deadline date


The Winter 2017/18 CIC Aboriginal Bursary application is now available.  Apply by Dec 15.

Note: Payment is given in two increments; $2500 in the fall and $2500 in the winter.  To receive the 2nd payment, recipients must achieve a college Grade Point Average (GPA) of 70% or better on the fall term; and remain registered as a full-time student throughout the winter term, up to and including the last day of class.
