If you have a special need, or suspect that you need help, Lakeland College staff will help you with the following:
  • Assessing academic needs
  • Assistive technology training
  • Teaching learning strategies
  • Exam and classroom accommodations (note takers, assistive technology, oral exams)
  • Materials adaptation such as voice activated software and electronic talking dictionaries

    • Funding Resources
      Depending on your disabilities and needs, there are several funding options available.

      Canada Study Grant for the accommodation of students with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PD)
      The Canada Study Grant for the accommodation of Students with Permanent Disabilities provides funding for services and assistive technologies for students with permanent disabilities up to $8,000 per loan year.  In order to receive this grant, you must have appropriate documents that prove your disabilities, and need to be eligible for a full-time or part-time Canada Student Loan.  If you require more information on CSG-PD, please contact your Provincial Government Career Consultant. (Alberta Government Directory) or (Saskatchewan Government Directory)

      Saskatchewan Study Grant
      You may be eligible for a Canada Study Grant and Saskatchewan Study Grant for the Accommodation of Students with Permanent Disabilities, which may provide up to $10,000 ($8,000 federal and $2,000 provincial) per year.   This grant is provided to cover approved education-related expenses for services and equipment directly related to your disability.  If your require information on Saskatchewan funding, please contact your Provincial Government Career Consultant.
