Special Areas Board
Salary: $82,571 - $89,323 per annum
Youngstown - The Special Areas Board is hiring a Welder II position based out of Youngstown, Alberta. The Youngstown Service Center, a modern 19 bay shop, manages the Special Areas fleet of over 175 vehicles and 250 pieces of equipment.
This position will supervise a small team of welders and be responsible for welding department operations. Position duties include the use of oxy-acetylene flame, electric arc welding and MIG welding for repair of parts, machines, buildings and equipment as well as fabricating various metal components and structures; making drawings, patterns, flame cuts and grinding metals; implementing instructions in specifications and drawings as well as selecting electrodes, gas filler rods and different metals. In addition, this position may oversee apprentice(s).
Qualifications: First Class Provincial or Interprovincial Journeyman Welder Certificate and related experience. The successful applicant will be a mature, personable, proactive, safety conscious team player with effective communications and organizational skills. Basic computer and supervisory skills are an asset. This position involves call out duties and a valid Alberta Operators License is required.

Condition Monitoring Specialist
Condition Monitoring Specialist required for the execution of comprehensive condition monitoring programs.
This role is accountable for daily hands on analysis and reporting of vibration and other condition monitoring data.
•Ensure services and reporting delivery are on time, within established budget
•Follow safe work practices and ensure that all staff members are in full compliance with HSE guidelines, practices and expectations
•Perform condition monitoring and analysis on critical plant machinery to ensure that all issues have a documented resolution and timely path forward and that lessons learned are addressed
•Support Operations in identifying root problem causes, and provide the proper recommendations to improve reliability ensure a safe and reliable operation and facilitate ongoing improvement
•Work with the Reliability, Maintenance and Condition Monitoring personnel to maximize service intervals while assuring reliable operation of rotating equipment and improve overall equipment efficiency
•Technologist – T.T., CET, P. Tech, Millwright or EIT
•Preference given to candidate with a strong Rotating Equipment background and CMVA/Vibration Institute or equivalent Certification
•Experience with industrial mechanical maintenance program
•Preference given to candidate with working knowledge of other condition monitoring technologies, including oil analysis, thermography, motor current analysis and ultrasound and their integration with vibration analysis.
•Technically minded individual with the ability to read and interpret information and communicate your message with clarity and ease through technical reports
•Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Windows, MS Office Word/Excel, Outlook E-Mail, etc.
•Understanding basic dynamics of rotating machinery equipment application, operation, and design
•Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
•Self-motivated and independent
•Strong desire to enjoy a career in equipment reliability
•Dedication to customer service as well as excellent time management
•Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and customers, and to use good judgement
•Professional attitude and presentation consistent with position and responsibilities
