How to access our online research databases:

This is our Databases and e-resources page. It provides an alphabetical listing of our databases. Click on the details link to the right of each database title for a brief description of its subject specialties. Click on the database title to begin searching. An off campus login prompt will appear.

Click here for information about your barcode and PIN and a link use if you have forgotten your PIN.  Your library barcode is the 13 digit number below the barcode on the front of your student ID card (1435xxxxxxxxx).  Your library barcode is not the same as your student ID number (50xxxxxxx)  Your PIN is the lst 4 digits of the phone number that you supplied at registration.  If you are unable to login, please contact the library for assistance.

Full-text articles in the electronic databases

After performing a subject search in any database, the results displayed will consist of full-text articles and others that are not available full-text on the computer. Full-text articles will either be in PDF or HTML format. Click on either the PDF or HTML icon to open the complete article.

Articles not available in full-text

If an article in your search results is not available in full text, these two icons will appear below the citation:

Full Text Finder / Request this item through interlibrary loan

You can request the article through our Inter-Library Loan Services. Click on icon and login with your library barcode and PIN. Click on the Full Text Finder icon to find out If the article is available full-text next in other Lakeland College databases.  This icon will lead you to a page that will show you which databases have the full-text article you are looking for. It will also show you if the article is available in the print periodicals in the library. If you would like an article that is available in our print periodicals please send us an e-mail or phone the library. Your article can be scanned and e-mailed, or faxed to you.

If the article is not available in full-text in any of our databases, click on the Interlibrary Loan icon to open the Interlibrary Loan Request form. Login with your Library barcode and your PIN. The Interlibrary loan request form will be automatically populated with the article details and your contact information. Please verify that your email address is correct. Click the button at the bottom of the form to accept the terms of the service, and click the submit button.   You will receive an email with your request number followed by an email containing a link to follow to retrieve the article. Normally, it takes about two days to receive an article.

If you have a citation for an article that you can’t find in the databases, you can request the article through the Inter-library Loan Services by filling in the form found here. Login to the Interlibrary Loan request page with your Library Bar code number and your PIN and fill in the form with all the details you have. Please use the NOTES field on the request form to let us know that you are an online/ distance student. Please supply a fax number or give us your e-mail information.
