Award Celebrations 2010
Over $540,000 in awards and scholarships were also distributed to over 500 Lakeland College students at awards dinners during March 2010.In a changed format, the celebrations were dinners where recipients and donors had a chance to get better acquainted.
Four new awards were presented on the Vermilion campus. They were the Bill Cayford Amik Memorial, Northeast Electrical Contractor Chapter Award, Friends of Lakeland College and XL Kitchen and Bath Design Inc.
At the Lloydminster ceremonies three new awards were presented: George Stevens Memorial, RBC Royal Bank Award and University Studies Humanities.
Earlier in the academic year, an additional $100,000 in bursaries was presented to 234 students. The grand total awarded for 2009-10 is $640,932 to 771 recipients, or approximately one in 3 students.
