When do I pay residence fees?
View
You can pay first semester fees before move-in day and qualify for the early bird draw--one month's free rent in the second semester. Details will be mailed to you by residence. Otherwise residence fees are due on move-in day. Second semester fees are due at the beginning of the second semester.
How do I get a phone in my residence room? How long does it take?
View
More and more students are choosing cell phone service rather than land lines. Often they use whatever cell phone service they've had a home.
If you do want a land line, call Telus’s toll-free number 1 888 811 2323 to arrange a telephone hookup in your room. This is toll-free anywhere in North America. You can also use the 310 2255 residential service number (dial toll-free) if you are calling from Alberta.
You'll need your residence room number to book an installation date, so it's usually advisable to wait until you move into residence before arranging telephone service.
Sometimes phone installation can take a few weeks, depending on how busy Telus is. Should you or a roommate have a medical condition, please let Telus know and they will try to be more accommodating.

Can I change my room in residence?
View
Probably not on the first day, especially if you are looking for a single room (Vermilion). There are a limited number of singles available. Roommate changes are usually not done for the first two weeks, and there is a charge for switching rooms.
