Lakeland College

FYI - Registration

Hello Fellow Lakelanders!

On behalf of the Students’ Association, welcome to Lloydminster and Lakeland College.  The SA (a.k.a. Students’ Association) is here to help you have a fun and rewarding time at Lakeland College.

Your 2010/2011 SA Council includes:
• Shelby Longworth, President
• David Dahl, Vice President Academic
• Michael Bowden, Activities Co-ordinator
• Shauni Rechenmacher, Awareness Co-ordinator
• Natasha Zeitz, Communications Co-ordinator

The SA Council is a combination of elected and hired student executives who represent your voice on several college committees.  We advocate for you on local, provincial and federal levels.  We are here to listen to student concerns, talk with faculty and staff, and to help organize lots of great stuff.  We also provide services, such as our day-planner and faxing.

The SA is responsible for lots of cool activities like stress busters, BBQ’s, dances, free stuff, and lots more.  We are here to brighten your day and make this year full of fun times!  A great way to do that is to attend some events put on by the SA.  Join a club, or a team; there are lots to choose from.  Most of all, take full advantage of all the resources available on campus and don’t be shy -  the friends you make here will be with you for a long time!!

There are many opportunities for you to play an active role in your Students’ Association.  We will be recruiting student volunteers for several committees, such as the Class Rep Committee, Academic Council, Student Grievance and Appeals, and the Harassment Committee.  We sincerely hope that you will volunteer and become a student leader this fall.  Get involved and help make this year the best it can be for you and your fellow students.  You’ll be glad you did!

If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, or if you’re just looking for a place to relax, stop by the Students’ Association Office (Room 1022).

Have a spectacular year!

PS The popcorn is nearly always on.
