It's said that we travel on our stomachs. So, living in another country is part of the living and learning experience.

There are cafeterias on campus. If you live in residence, you'll also have access to a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.

Grocery stores may be different than what you are used to, and the same with restaurants.

At Lakeland, we like to have events with food from free giveaways from the students' associations to potlucks in residence.

Your dorm will have a shared kitchen which means you'll be able to prepare your own food. Since the cafeterias aren't open in the evening, you'll be using those facilities then.

If you are on the Lloydminster campus, you'll share the kitchen with 7 other people. You'll have a stove with oven, microwave and refrigerator.

If you are on the Vermilion campus, the main dorm buildings have larger shared kitchens with multiple stoves, ovens, microwaves and refrigerators. You'll also have a mini-fridge in your dorm room.

The only public transportation in Lloydminster and Vermilion are taxis. To help anyone who doesn't have a vehicle, grocery shuttles are arranged.

Lloydminster has several large grocery stores including Co-op, Sobey's, Safeway, Superstore and Wal-mart. Vermilion has a Co-op and a Family Foods.

There are also seasonal farmer's markets with fresh produce, baked goods and specialty products.
