PubMed provides access to: MEDLINE, NLMs database of indexed journal citations and abstracts covering nearly 4,500 journals published in the United States and more than 70 other countries; The out-of-scope citations from certain MEDLINE journals, primarily general science and chemistry journals, for which the life science articles are indexed for MEDLINE; Citations that precede the date that a journal was selected for MEDLINE indexing (in-process citations that have not yet been analyzed and indexed for MEDLINE); Some additional life science journals that submit full text to PubMedCentral and receive a qualitative review by NLM; Nursing subsets which indexes the major journals in the area.
