DESCRIPTION
Statistics Canada produces statistics that help Canadians better understand their country -- its population, resources, economy, society and culture. Information includes a comprehensive series of downloadable tables, updated regularly, dealing with the economy, the land, the people and the state; downloadable publications and research documents to put Canadian socio-economic events in context; and CANSIM, which offers authoritative data on labour, manufacturing, investment, and international trade. CANSIM allows you to track trends and extract data on virtually every aspect of Canadian life. Also available is Statistical Profile of Canadian Communities, which contains information from the 1996 Census on more than 6,000 communities including metropolitan areas, cities, villages, and First Nations reserves and settlements.
