How to Access the Library databases:
Click here to go to our Databases and e-resources page.
Click here to go to an alphabetical listing of our databases. Click on the details link to the right of each database title for a brief description of its subject specialties. Clcik on the database title to begin searching. You will be prompted to login once you select a database.
Click here for a title or subject listing of all full-text journals available online or in print at Lakeland College. Search for your journal title, or search for a subject area and select the Find It button. Click on a journal title in the search results to open a page linking you to the databases that contain the journal. Click on the database name to search the selected journal. You will be asked to login once you select a database.
How to login:
You will be asked to login after you select a database. Enter your 13 digit barcode number and your PIN, which is the last four digits of the phone number you gave the College at registration. Click here for more information about your barcode number and PIN. Please contact the library if you have any problems with your barcode or PIN.
Articles without full text:
If an article in your search results is not full text it will show a green Find It button next to the citation. This button will lead you to a page that will show you if the article is available full text in any other databases we subscribe to. It will also show you if the article is available in the print periodicals in the library. If you would like an article that is available in our print periodicals please send us an e-mail or phone the library. Your article can be faxed or mailed to you. The Find It page will also link to our Interlibrary Loan request page.
Interlibrary loan for articles:
If you have selected an article that is not full text, the Find It button next to the citation will lead you to our Interlibrary Loan request page. Login to the Interlibrary Loan request page with your barcode number and your PIN. The Interlibrary loan request form will be automatically filled in with the article details and your contact information. Your article can be faxed or mailed to you. Please use the NOTES field on the request form to let us know that you are a distance student. Please supply a fax number or give us your mailing address.
If you have a citation for an article that you can’t find in the databases, you can request an interlibrary loan by filling in the Interlibrary Loan form found here. Login to the Interlibrary Loan request page with your barcode number and your PIN and fill in the form with all the details you have. Please use the NOTES field on the request form to let us know that you are a distance student. Please supply a fax number or give us your mailing address.

ABI/INFORM Complete
Offers in-depth coverage of business and economic conditions, management techniques, theory, and practice of business, advertising, marketing, economics, human resources, finance, taxation, computers and more. Fast access to information on 60,000+companies with business and executive profiles. Coverage is from 1971 to present.
In addition to ABI INFORM/GLOBAL, there are several other databases that you can access that will provide you with more information.
BUSINESS SOURCE COMPLETE
Business Premier is the industry’s most used business research database, providing full text for nearly 8,800 serials. Business Source Complete provides full text back to 1965 (or the first issue published for that journal) and searchable cited references back as 1998. Business Source Complete provides full-text coverage in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics. Additional full text non-journal content includes market research reports, industry reports, country reports, company profiles and SWOT analysis.
ACADEMIC SEARCH COMPLETE
Academic Search Premier offers information in nearly every area of academic study. The database provides indexing and abstracts for over 8,200 publications, with full text for nearly 4,650 of those titles, over three quarters of which are peer-reviewed. The majority of full-text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full text information in this database dates as far back as 1975.
BUSINESS AND COMPANY ASAP (1980 – present)
Perform in-depth research on management issues, economic indicators and business theories and practices, as well as on the activities of companies and industries worldwide. Instant access to academic and business journals with full text and images.
MasterFILE PREMIER
Full text articles from more than 1,900 general reference, business, consumer health, general science and multicultural periodicals, with non-full text article listings for over 2,500 periodicals. Also offers full text for many reference and travel books, biographies, and primary source documents. You can also search photos, maps and flags.
CANADIAN DATABASES:
CBCA COMPLETE (Canadian Business and Current Affairs Complete)
This product includes all the content present in the Canadian Business & Current Affairs (CBCA) databases. Subject coverage is comprehensive. Information is present from all areas including: current events, business, education, science and medicine, arts, law, academia, and lifestyles, all with a Canadian focus. Full text is available within these areas. CBCA Complete is ideal for anyone interested in Canada.
Canadian Periodical Index (CPI.Q)
A great resource for Canadian articles. Publication information for articles from over 400 Canadian and international journals, magazines and selected sections of the Globe and Mail. Offers full text of many articles. Also features biographies and other reference content. Subject coverage includes current events, health, technology, arts, history and business information. English and French language resources.
CANADIAN NEWSSTAND
Offers access to full text of Canadian newspapers.
