It's a $5 challenge from the Students' Associations on Lakeland College's Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses to contribute to Haitian earthquake relief.

Every student and staff member has been asked to consider donating just $5 towards the humanitarian project. All funds raised will be forwarded to the Red Cross.

The idea came from Emily Monahan, the awareness coordinator on the Vermilion campus. Because up to $50 million in donations will be matched by the Canadian government, she seized the opportunity to create some matching donation dollars.

Donations can be made at the Vermilion SA office (118 Bentley Building) and the Lloydminster SA office (Room 1022).
