Ag curriculum brokered for Sask. program
A skilled labour shortage on Saskatchewan farms prompted development of an ag operator program that will be delivered through Parkland College. Course content was brokered from Lakeland College agricultural sciences curriculum. Lakeland's Darrell Hickman was at the launch of the federally and Saskatchewan government funded program in Yorkton last week.
Lakeland mentors still inspiring Mann
Mentors and technology have propelled Jessie Mann from first year university transfer student at Lakeland College to high school teacher at Lloydminster's Holy Rosary. Along the way she earned her BEd at the University of Saskatchewan and a master's in curriculum and learning from the University of Regina. She's incorporated new technologies into her teaching and will be attending an international conference in Spain this summer.
