Lakeland College alumnus returns to her roots to perform at the President's gala
Lakeland College is proud to announce that alumnus Jodie Leslie will perform during the first-annual President’s Gala. The talented singer/songwriter’s homecoming performance will entertain gala guests including Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Donald S. Ethell, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Vaughn Solomon Schofield and Premier Alison Redford, among other dignitaries on Friday, March 15.

Leslie is a Class of 1996 grad from the School of Agricultural Sciences. After graduating from the western horsemanship program, she pursued a career in the music industry and has performed for audiences of up to 40,000 people over the years.

Former board chair receives Queen II Diamond Jubilee Medal
Vermilion resident Doug Elliott received a Queen II Diamond Jubilee Medal during a presentation ceremony led by Lakeland College Board of Governors Chairman Milt Wakefield on Feb. 15.

Father & son-in-law duo team up to take heavy equipment -
 Ian Carey can’t say he doesn’t know what type of family he’s marrying into. The 27-year-old has taken his second, third and now fourth training period of heavy equipment technician at Lakeland College with Craig “Critter” Crites, his future father-in-law. They travel from Elk Point to the Vermilion campus together and sit next to one another in class. They also work together as heavy duty mechanics at Aim Construction. Click here to meet them.

Lakeland alumnus wins 2013 PBR
- Zane Lambert held on to win the 2013 Professional Bull Riding event held at Lakeland College's Vermilion campus on Feb. 15. The annual event, hosted by the Lakeland College with support from ATB Financial, attracted about 1,500. Read more.

An evening of elegance & purpose
Lakeland's President's Gala will be the premier event of the college's centennial celebrations and it's all for a great cause -- our students. Funds raised at the gala will go towards the Centennial Endowment Fund for scholarships and awards. Guest speaker is Lieutenant-General (Ret'd) Honourable Romeo A.Dallaire, Senator. Diamond Champagne Raffle, Live & Silent auction, entertainment. Tickets are $250, for which a $125 tax receipt will be provided. Corporate tables of eight are also available.
