Synergy Credit Union & Lakeland join forces to host Roméo A. Dallaire
Two local allies have joined forces to bring a dynamic Canadian figure in international and national affairs to the Border City. With a $25,000 donation to Lakeland College, Synergy Credit Union will sponsor the retired Lieutenant-General Honourable Roméo A. Dallaire, senator, as the guest speaker at the college’s President’s Gala, March 15, 2013, at the Lloydminster campus. The event is part of the college’s centennial celebrations.

Strides to Better Health makes move to Lloydminster campus
- Participants in the Strides to Better Health program now have access to a weight room, treadmills, stationary bikes and a gymnasium thanks to the program’s recent move to Lakeland College’s Lloydminster campus. Strides is a free regional exercise and health education program funded by Prairie North Health Region that provides people with the tools they need to manage their own chronic conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and stroke. Jay Ingram, one of Canada's best-known science communicators is coming to the Vermilion campus on Wednesday, Nov. 14. He will discuss prion diseases (chronic wasting and mad cow) and how they have affected our lives, food supply and economy. He will be joined by experts Dr. Stefanie Czub and Dr. Valerie Sim. Co-sponsored by the Alberta Prion Research Institute,
Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions and Lakeland College.

volleyball teams each had winning weekends at the Lloydminster campus. In front of large crowds, they defeated the Olds Broncos. In basketball, the Rustlers women
are off to a perfect 4 and 0 start. The men’s
season is looking respectable and currently sits at 2 wins, and 2 close losses.
