The countdown started on our 99th anniversary on Nov. 17, 2012 and the last official celebration was Monday Nov. 18, 2013 with cake for students and staff on the Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses.
Our Green & Gold final weekend included a staff social on Friday evening, the Next 100 Years banquet and 1988 time capsule opening and wear your Lakeland colours on our 100th anniversary Nov. 17.
Along the way during our Centennial year we had a lot of fun and a group of dedicated volunteers helped make it happen--from bus drivers out to the Great Toboggan to cake cutters at our last event, the Lakeland family turned out to support and make the anniversary events possible. Thanks to all of them, and thanks to everyone who participated whether they were at the inaugural President's Gala in March or part of mattress dominoes in September.

Among the most recent honourees were Craig's of Vermilion and Doug Elliott, board chair between 2005 - 2011. Elliot provided exceptional leadership helping to pilot the college through financial turbulence and then growth with a student-first perspective. Craig's is the longest continuous scholarship donor in college history, providing a scholarship every year the college was open since 1927.
