Student leads the way to create new award for paramedic program
When Melissa Ade went for a walk in an off leash area along the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton in March 2007, she had no idea that what she would come across would confirm her choice of career path. Now a second-year student in the paramedic program at Camrose, she is leading the way to create the Pay It Forward Award for paramedic students and is gaining the support of her classmates, instructors and alumni.

Top Lakeland marks earn UT grad $2,500 scholarship at U of S
Keeping her nose to the grindstone keeps paying off for Siera Sparrow, a recent university transfer student who is now at the University of Saskatchewan to complete a psychology degree . After a strong academic performance at Lakeland and receiving a $1,500 Academic Excellence Scholarship based on her solid Grade 11 marks, she earned a $2,500 scholarship at the U of S for having the highest marks of all Lakeland university transfer students.
