Quick Facts
Capstone Presentations
Capstone presentations are major technical reports prepared by fourth-year students of Lakeland College’s bachelor of applied science degree program in environmental management (BAEM). The presentations are the final step in fulfilling the program’s graduation requirements. The 2010 Capstones were presented Monday Feb. 1. The reports incorporate academic knowledge and practical experience from eight-month work placements with host industry agencies. Topics relate to a number of high-profile issues including natural gas wellsite migration, drilling waste disposal and remediation, flare stacks and emissions, and the impact of industry practices and activity on wildlife and other natural resources.
