Sign Language Interpretation Diploma

Learn:

Learn to simultaneously interpret English and American Sign Language. You will become fluent in American Sign Language. Your training will include:
  • the roles and responsibilities of a sign language interpreter
  • an introduction to the linguistic structures of English and American Sign Language
  • a look at the Deaf culture and community
  • an overview of the sign language interpreter profession

Live The Learning:

  • You will live the learning by using your skills outside the classroom. Supervised fieldwork, immersion and a 12-week practicum are part of this condensed 18-month program.
  • With interpreting in many different settings, the opportunity to become familiar with a broad range of events and knowledge.
  • You will interact with diverse communities.

Sign language interpreter in a variety of settings including business and education. Within one to three months of graduation, 98% of graduates find related employment.

Sign language interpreters have the opportunity to travel to various locations.
