Our past energy projects have included facility energy use modeling and impact studies; biodiesel production, byproduct analysis and quality control; analysis of wind power generation potential in low-wind areas; biogas production feasibility studies; student-led energy conservation retrofit projects; and development of a renewable energy technology research and demonstration facility.
Our environmental conservation research has included the development of two simulated oil lease sites for teaching and research purposes as well as a partnership with Vermilion Provincial Park to assess environmental management strategies and the impact of techniques for restoring and maintaining native rangelands.
Ongoing agricultural projects include crop variety trials and livestock production improvements and precision farming studies. The outcomes of our research have been transferred to our partners and shared with the regional community.
