Knight and Mousseau Join Rustler Men’s Volleyball Team

The Rustlers Men’s Volleyball team is pleased to announce that Justin Knight of Hamiota, Manitoba, has agreed to join the roster for the 2011-2012 season. Knight, a 6’1” left side, played three years of high school volleyball for the Hamiota Collegiate Huskies under the direction of coach Cory Smith. Knight led his team to 3 consecutive appearances at the MHSAA Provincial Championships, finishing with a silver medal at the 2009 Provincials. Justin was twice named as a Provincial All-star and played in the Manitoba Volleyball Association Graduating All-Star game in Winnipeg in 2010.

Knight also competed in MVA club volleyball with the Yellowhead Blaze and won a gold and silver medal at the club level where he was named as a tournament all star. He is presently playing for the Brandon Volleyball Club under coaches Mark Geekie and Paul Friesen.

Knight is a multi sport athlete who has found success in several other sports. He helped lead his high school soccer team to 3 provincial championship appearances . He also won his zone and competed in the MHSAA badminton championships and helped his school baseball team to league championships and provincial appearances in his 4 years of play. Knight’s AAA baseball team represented Manitoba at the Western Canadian Championships and he was also a two time member of the Manitoba provincial baseball team for his age group.

The Rustlers are very pleased to welcome Knight to the fold and look forward to the contributions he will make to the team in the next season.

Coach Ford would also like to announce the addition of local prospect Ben Mousseau to their programme for the 2011-2012 season.

The 6’4” Kitscoty product is looking to contribute to the Rustlers success in the middle and right side position. He led his high school team, Kitscoty High School Cavaliers under Coach King, to 2 consecutive high school provincial appearances. Mousseau is currently playing his club volleyball with the Cold Lake Spartans and is hoping to add to his previous successes at the AVA club provincial level. Mousseau is one of several young recruits who are looking to make the Rustlers an exciting team to watch next season.
