September 17th the Lakeland College Rustlers will be hosting some of the best College level cross country runners in the province. Lakeland College will play host to the second race in the ACAC Grand Prix Race series at the Vermilion Provincial Park. The Vermilion Provincial Park has some of the best cross country running trails in Alberta and has hosted some great events in the past such as the ASAA provincial championships as well as the annual Lakeland College Runaway. Coach Lyle Worobec is extremely happy that the Rustlers will be able to compete on their own course for one race this season. In their second year back in the conference the Rustlers running team is looking to improve on last years finish. The Rowdy Rustler Race will not only be open to College Runners but also the public as well. There will be 4 different start times with the 12 and under starting at 10:45 am running 2 km, the 13 - 18 age category will get started at 11:15 am running 4 km. The open categories will begin at noon with the women leaving the start line running a distance of 5 km and the men will compete in an 8 km race at 1:00 pm. There are sure to be some fast times as the top cross country runners in the ACAC last year also won a number of medals at the National Championships. For more information, contact:
