2nd consecutive win for alumnus in plant ID competition

Ryan James, environmental sciences alumnus, scored 95.1 per cent in the North American Range Plant Identification Test to place first in the 2018 competition.

'99 alumna opens chiropractic clinic

Amber Enns, university transfer alumna, is a licensed chiropractor after graduating from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ont.

Student selected for national band

James Griffith will join the 2018 Canadian National Youth Band in Montreal in May.

AFAC Award of Distinction

The Award of Distinction for Industry Leadership was presented to Lakeland representatives on Thursday, March 15.

Judging Competition celebrates 30 years

This year marked the 30th anniversary of Lakeland College’s Western Canadian Judging Competition. This competition was the first of its kind in Western Canada; originally starting out in 1988 as a contest that included both 4-H and college teams.

The Concession Management Board is the latest student-led initiative that serves hot and cold meals, and beverages for spectators during athletic games and events.

Fashion on a Budget

This year, contestants were tasked with dressing their best with a budget of only $33.33. This included the purchase of a dress or skirt, shirt or blouse, and pants or trousers, perfectly tailored for a job interview.

Scott Guenthner finishes sixth in PRCA world standings

The livestock production alumnus began his rodeo career at Lakeland. He joined the college’s Rodeo Team in 2010 and made it to the Canadian National College Finals Rodeo each year in calf roping, team roping and steer wrestling.
