Lakeland recognizes the impact individuals have in their industry and communities.

Distinguished Alumni and Citizen

With campuses in Lloydminster and Vermilion, the college annually recognizes one distinguished alumni and citizen at each campus for their significant accomplishments:

• Contributions to the community at large, to a profession, or discipline.
• Contributions to Lakeland College of longstanding or exceptional merit which has advanced the college.
• Humanitarian or philanthropic contributions to society.
• Recognition at the provincial, national or international level

Nominees exhibit one or more of Lakeland's values of learner success, integrity, respect, community, excellence and or innovation.

Generation Alumni

As the third oldest post-secondary institution in Alberta, many families share a Lakeland legacy. Each year at convocation, generation alumni are recognized if they have at least one parent, grandparent or great grandparent who was a Lakeland alumnus.

New graduates that apply to this unique tradition receive a pin the celebrates their family’s Lakeland connection.
