Criteria & Selection
Distinguished Citizen (Honorary Credential) award criteria & selection
Lakeland College wants to recognize distinguished citizens within the college's community with an honorary credential.
A number of other criteria are used to select annual award winners for both of the college's campuses. See the drop downs below for more detail.
The nomination process is an open one. The nomination form is available on our distinguished citizen (honorary credential) nomination form page.
Nominations are submitted to Lakeland's vice president of external relations and infrastructure. Those nominations are sent to the board of governor's connectivity committee for review.
The committee will recommend up to 4 nominations to the board for a vote.
Award recipients will be invited to convocation as well as speak at the ceremony.
