Chart your success in the high-tech world of crop production and marketing.
Gain knowledge and skills in agronomy, production, precision farming and agribusiness management classes.
You’ll also learn by going to industry conferences/workshops and hearing from local producers in panel discussions.
Your real world, hands-on classroom comes in your 2nd year where you’ll put theory into practice on the Student-Managed Farm (SMF)–powered by New Holland.
The SMF crop team makes decisions for the crop side of the Lakeland College farm. You'll have a specific role in:
  • operations
  • production
  • marketing
  • finance
  • research
  • stewardship
  • leadership.
You also have the choice of a practicum route. You’ll work in the industry between first and second year. Back at Lakeland, you’ll unpack your experience and learned skills. Then, apply all you’ve learned to manage a simulated SMF.
As a graduate, you’re prepared to run your own farm or work in the retail agriculture sector.
