Continuing Education at Lakeland College
Life-long learning. Personal development. Short courses. Professional development. Workshops.
All these terms could be used to describe continuing education. At Lakeland College we don't limit to age or type of course.
Just as our full-time students lead their own learning, there's scope in our continuing education courses for you to develop a new hobby, build a foundation for a more education and add skills and certifications to your resume.
If you have a particular topic in mind, click on one of the category tiles.
If you're just looking or have a specific goal, you might want to start with one of our pathways.
If you look around and don't see a course you want -- tell us. Fill in our continuing education inquiry form. Your suggestion could be our next course.

Pathways
Continuing education has three pathways: just for fun, personal development and professional development.
Adult Basic Education
& Skills Training
Find the right academic upgrading course for your goals, or develop job and work skills.
Business
Whether you own a business or work for one, you may need another course or certificate to improve your business or career. See how we can help.
Health & Beauty
Not everyone has time for our full-time esthetician and hair styling programs, but you might take a couple of weekends to add new skills.
Oil & Gas
We're located in a heavy oil and gas region, so it only makes sense that we offer a wide range of courses.
Fire & Emergency Services
Lakeland's Emergency Training Centre (ETC) offers a variety of courses from first aid to officer training.
Pesticide Applicator
Certification
Lakeland College manages the provincial pesticide applicator certification program.
Music, Drama & Art
Theatre for Kids, a variety of instruments and visual arts courses for young and older.
