Services for Students

Our students are at the centre of who we are and what we do at Lakeland College.
We believe in the whole student and the whole student experience. So outside of what happens in classroom, Lakeland offers you a wide range of supports and services from a campus nurse to recreation facilities.
Your best resource is the student services office on your campus.
  • In Lloydminster, student services is the first office you see directly in front of you when you come in the main entrance.
  • In Vermilion, student services is just around the corner from the front entrance of Alumni Hall.
Many services are located right there. Others aren't very many steps away.
Our front line staff is ready to help you find who or what you're looking for.

Academic Advising

When you have a lot of choices, it helps when someone can help you see those options clearly. That’s the role of an academic advisor.
In particular they help you choose courses. If you change directions, they’ll help you pick different classes.
They are also your source for transfer information if you are an a degree path to another post-secondary institution. They can guide you through the world of transfer credits and transfer agreements. Currently 4 of our schools have academic advisors:
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Business
  • Human Services
  • University Transfer
Transfer and other academic advice is also available through department chairs.

Go Rustlers!

A majority of our teams play in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC). This includes:
  • basketball

  • curling
  • futsal

Our rowing crew competes against universities in Western Canada at regattas in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Their season culminates in the Western Canadian University Rowing Championships.

Clubs provide a great way to connect with old friends and make new ones, pursue your interests and expand your horizons.

Lakeland had several clubs that students from both campuses can join.

If you’d like to start another club, get like-minded people together and contact the students’ association.
