The Student Employment Centre helps current  students and alumni connect with employers.

Our student employment advisor is here to help you. This includes:
  • classroom presentations and workshops
  • one-on-one appointments to review resumes and cover letters, learn job search techniques or have mock interview sessions  
  • online job postings. Hard copies can also be viewed in the Student Employment Centre at each campus.
  • other job boards and online resources
  • annual fall Career Fair and winter Business Career Fair where you can network with employers

The SEC is closed for the months of June, July & August: no new jobs will be posted during this time.

We offer:
  • a complimentary online job posting service - this service is available between the beginning of September and the end of May. Our office is closed June, July and August.
  • on campus recruitment visits and interview rooms.
  • an opportunity to showcase your company at our Career Fair in Vermilion on Friday, October 19th and Business Job Fair in Lloydminster on Thursday, January 24th.

Notes:
  1. Train the workers you need and get the Canada-Alberta Job Grant working for you!  You could receive up to $15,000/employee that you train.
  2. Canada Summer Jobs is a Government of Canada initiative.  It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees to create summer jobs for students between the ages of 15 and 30.
  3. Metis Youth Summer Placement Program (Rupertsland Institute) will pay a subsidy to an employer who provides a job that is a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 16 weeks.

Employers are welcome to use our complimentary online job posting service to post full-time, part-time, summer, co-op, contract or project positions.

This service is available from September through to the end of May. We shut down services for the months of June, July and August.

Post your position by using our online job posting form, or by emailing a word doc to student.employment@lakelandcollege.ca.
 
Your posting will be shared on both our Lloydminster and Vermilion campus job boards as well as on our web job postings.

Lakeland's annual Career Fair is held in conjunction with our annual Open House.
 
The Career Fair is usually the 3rd Friday of October on the Vermilion campus.
 
We have space for about 50 exhibitors and regularly have a waiting list.

Job Fair

Business Job Fair

Lakeland's 8th annual Business Job Fair will take place on January 24, 2019.

This event is where business students can meet with prospective employers and prospective employers can meet with them.

Students are encouraged to bring a resume. If you need help with your resume, contact the Student Employment Centre in Student Services.

The fair runs from 11:30 am to 2 pm in the Lloydminster Campus Cafeteria (Servus Credit Union Hospitality Centre).
