New faculty orientation

So, now you're a college instructor

Whether you are new to teaching at the college level, or new to Lakeland College, our one week faculty orientation will get you ready for the classroom.

You'll be learning from your colleagues. All sessions are facilitated by experienced Lakeland College instructors from across our departments. 

Your week will focus on best practices and preparation for the challenges of the academic year. 
Session topics are listed in a tile below. Some of those topics are:
  • learning design
  • assessment
  • classroom management
  • educational technology decisions
  • our learning management systems, Desire 2 Learn (D2L) and Microsoft Teams
  • plan and deliver two practice lessons
  • meet colleagues
  • learn about our teaching and learning services and meet the team on both campuses
